Information & Education

Newsletter "Farmanco Facts"

This client-exclusive monthly newsletter is produced to keep you up to date with the business information you require. It is also a means of communicating FARMANCO activities and an educational tool. Farmanco Facts consists of timely articles of seasonal importance as well as articles, or series of articles, that are educational in nature.

Seasonal Alerts

If time critical issues arise clients are notified promptly with the production of a suitable fax, rather than waiting for the next edition of the Farmanco Facts. This service can also be provided by email.

PoolCalc

This unique spreadsheet tool for budgeting calculates actual and forecast pool distributions and any loans for any given crop year and for all grains. This can be modified with an individual client's freight and quality parameters. The accurate data provided has become invaluable as the choices for receiving funds from pooled grain have increased. Data is also produced in the format required for entering into the Agrimaster budgeting software worksheets. The updated information is always available on our website.

Seminars

Seminars are delivered each year in April and October at several locations, by a combination of FARMANCO consultants and outside speakers. They cover commodity outlooks and topical issues with the aim being to inform as well as educate clients, thereby helping them to make better management decisions. From time to time other topic specific seminars are delivered. In the past these have included such topics as Herbicide Resistance, Marketing, Tax, Financial Recording, Sheep, Off Farm Investing, Succession Planning and GST issues.

Field Days

Field days involve visits to specific client paddocks and particular field trials to both educate and help deal with common agronomic issues. Specific field days, in the relevant location and dealing with a single topic, are conducted if an important new issue arises during the season. Field tours further away within the state or interstate are conducted in response to necessity or demand.

Website

The prime purpose of the FARMANCO website (www.farmanco.com.au) is to provide a service to clients. There is access to various types of information including newsletters and budgeting information. Of particular value is the access to various spreadsheet decision aids, which can also be downloaded and run in Excel. In the future it is planned that the website be used more extensively to communicate with clients and will have interactive programs to help your business management, such as monitoring your commodity marketing position.
