Research

Finding solutions and answers to specific client problems is the reason Farmanco began its own independent field research program in 1983. Funding was sourced internally as well as from the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC).

Over time this research has both improved the quality of advice given to our clients and resulted in herbicide use and crop variety assessment innovations that are considered standard practice now in much of Western Australia.

In the latter part of the 1990s the need to independently conduct and fund this research declined as other organisations and farmer groups began establishing field trials. However, there is an increased need for Farmanco to identify and collate data from the many trials now established every year in WA, and across Australia.

Currently Farmanco is in the process of setting up a reserarch arm again. It is envisaged that we will be begining trials tailored to our clients needs by 2011. If you have any ideas for research that Farmanco should undergo please do not hesitate to let your consultant know.
