The Farmanco Advantage

Independent Advice

Farmanco consultants provide fully independent advice in all areas. We do not have any obligations to anyone other than you.

Experience and Skills

With 20 consultants, nine farm mangement consultants, eight agronomists and three grain marketing specialists we have a blend of expertise and experience and operate as a team to ensure that we provide the best advice and services possible. This also gives us a wider network of professional contacts. You can deal with more than one consultant if required, utilising an individual's area of expertise. It is comforting to know that when you require advice quickly, and your primary consultant cannot be contacted, you can access another consultant.

Team Work and Education

Farmanco's major objectives are to work together with clients to help achieve personal and business goals and provide opportunities for their ongoing education and development through both formal (group) and informal (one to one) training. We consider an important part of our role is to assist clients to be independent decision-makers who work as a team with their consultants.

Comprehensive Range of Services

We take pride in being able to provide a comprehensive range of services appropriate to your requirements. Through discussion with a consultant you determine the services you require and the basis for the ongoing relationship.

Decision Aids

You will have access to well researched information and unique decision aids that have been developed by Farmanco consultants. Many of these are available for download via the ‘client's only' section of our website, which has a range of information and services just for Farmanco clients.

Innovation

Farmanco has a long history of innovation, particularly in the areas of;

  1. Conducting field research: With the help of our clients we have been proactive in developing new agronomic techniques with respect to herbicide use, herbicide resistance and crop varieties.
  2. Business analysis software: This uses the calculation of actual profit, rather than using annual cashflows, to develop enterprise margins and various indicators and ratios with which to judge and compare business performance.
  3. Marketing software: This develops "target" commodity prices (using calculated enterprise profit rather than a particular year's cashflow), analysis of selling options available, monitoring of hedged positions and production of a sales cashflow.
  4. Training Programs: An extensive range has been developed that is directed at improving your knowledge and skills, with the aim of helping you be better business managers. Programs have also been developed and presented to non-farming agribusiness clients.

Know What You are Paying For

The schedule of fees is discussed before any services are provided. Invoices are produced twice per year and all services are itemised, including the consulting time.
