Ryan joined the Farmanco
Marketing Team in September 2009. Ryan comes from Mingenew where
his family owns and operates a mixed farming property. He studied
at the University of WA completing a Bachelor of Science in
Agriculture focussing on plant, soil science and agricultural and
resource economics.
Ryan has spent the last 10 years working in the agricultural sector including 3 years working for NAB Agribusiness Finance in the south of the state where his key responsibilities were credit assessment and financial analysis of rural, business and consumer lending. Ryan then moved to Geraldton and joined the AWB Group as part of the Landmark Finance team where he managed a small set of agricultural finance clients.
Most recently Ryan has spent the last 4 years working for the AWB managing clients based in the Wongan Hills, Dalwallinu and Moora shires. A key part of the role was providing clients with updates on domestic and international markets, advising on an array of products and services including cash and pool products, finance options and derivatives. This experience has allowed him to develop a very sound understanding of grain marketing in Western Australia as well as a strong knowledge base around a full range of grain marketing options.
Ryan’s experience in the agricultural finance and grain marketing sectors places him well for his role with Farmanco where his primary objective will be to develop and implement price risk management strategies and marketing plans for clients using a combination of futures and currency options, forward marketing and cash and pool sales. A key part of the role will be providing relevant marketing information to assist clients in their decisions as well as load and ticket allocations and writing the weekly newsletter. Ryan will look after clients throughout WA, though will have a focus on the Central and southern grain growing areas.
