May and June 2026 finds the Farmanco management consultants taking a breath as they complete the annual post-harvest review season and with the Aglytica team finalising the annual Profit Series (benchmarking) publication. Agronomists are busy out in the paddock, and the Grain Marketing team is researching, reading and analysing data to get the best prices for their clients.

On-farm Diesel Storage in 2026: Key Considerations for Broadacre Farmers

On-farm diesel storage is more valuable in 2026. Fuel risk and price volatility make reserves an important buffer.
Good storage management is essential to protect fuel quality and avoid seasonal diesel issues.
Bigger fuel storage adds cost but can still make economic sense. Expense is often small compared with the risk of running short

Fuel security has become a major issue for Australian broadacre farmers and has prompted many farms to reassess whether increasing on‑farm storage capacity is a strategic safeguard.

Boxer Gold is Registered for Post Emergent use in Oats

Oats are now registered for all the Boxer Gold® timings, like other cereals.
Post emergent use in oat hay crops can reduce early biomass, but if there is no stress the final dry matter (hay yield) recovers well and the penalty is minor.
Bannister and Wintaroo have been the most sensitive varieties.
Post emergent use in oat grain crops is popular, as it increases grain yields once weeds are suppressed. Do not apply Boxer Gold® post emergent if is there is any crop stress, or if treated with a pre-emergent or split application of BOXER GOLD®.

In late 2025, the label was extended to include oats.

Deciles: A Simple Tool for Grain Marketing Decisions

Price deciles help show whether current grain prices are historically strong, average or weak relative to recent seasons.
Deciles are not a prediction tool but can help add historical context and structure to grain marketing decisions.

Price deciles are one of the simplest ways to add context to grain prices. In this article, we’ve used decile charts to compare current season grain prices against the past five seasons, across a range of key WA grain grades.

Post Patent Pyrasulfotole

Generic formulations of pyrasulfotole are entering the market.
Some are single actives intended for you to mix on farm.
New entrants have had formulation stability issues, so beware.
Ammonium sulphate (AMS) enhances pyrasulfotole uptake and mobility through the plant.
Mixing pyrasulfotole with multiple modes of action can improve robustness.

In March 2026, the patent protection finished for Velocity® and Precept®. There are now generic versions in the market. Some of these copy the original products, and some are single active formulations intended for you to mix yourself.
