PROJECT OBJECTIVE

By January 2023, Western Australian growers are equipped to manage increases in mouse populations (including plagues) proactively through an improved understanding of mouse behaviour and effective baiting strategies during mouse outbreaks.

OUTCOMES

  • By Dec 2022, industry (growers, advisers and researchers) will have access to current information on mouse incidence and severity, using a monitoring protocol and training delivered by CSIRO to the service provider, across the WA grainbelt to determine mouse incidence and severity during an outbreak year and into sowing.

  • By January 2023, benchmarking of current grower practice for mouse surveillance and management will be completed.
