PROJECT OBJECTIVE

OUTCOMES

Output 1:

By March 2027, a comprehensive review and analysis of legislation that affects grower’s abilities to implement land-forming and sub-surface drainage to enhance water use efficiency across the grains industry.


Output 2:

By December 2030, a comprehensive data set summarising the agronomic, environmental and economic performance of land forming and sub-surface drainage practices across the MRZ and HRZs of the grains industry.


Output 3:

By March 2031, a report quantifying the size of the opportunity nationally to improve grower profit, water use-efficiency, and environmental outcomes through land forming and subsurface drainage based on the data provided by the farm-scale and paddock-scale research sites (Output 2).


Output 4:

By December 2030, published industry recommendations for the use of land forming and sub-surface drainage to maximise growers and environmental benefits, and thus ROI across the MRZ and HRZs of the grains industry.


Output 5:

By March 2026, and annually thereafter, an annual monitoring and evaluation report to help GRDC and project partners improve investment delivery and understand the impact of this investment on growers and advisors.
